Knit Night

Every Wednesday from 5-9pm (summer hours are ON now!) is our all-small-crafts-friendly Knit Night! Just show up, on your own or with friends. Bring your current project (knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, sewing, any ‘small-footprint’ crafting) or we can set you up with a new one! All are welcome.

Patronize our wine bar during your visit to help sustain our small business!

Free Yarn Library

Jocelyn’s father Jose built a sweet wooden yarn house that sits in front of the shop, our Free Yarn Library!

Take yarn! Yarn in our Free Yarn Library is donated by Yarn Farm or Yarn Farm Friends. Take a ball or two!

Share yarn! Bring your clean and craft-worthy yarn to be rehomed! (Clean is a must!) We all have yarn that no longer sparks joy. Move it along!

Not sure if your yarn suits? Come by and ask us! We are also happy to help rehome your yarn to neighbors like People's Place if our library and storage are full.

Our Free Yarn Library works best when you bring a skein (or ball) to take a skein (or ball). Try it out! We also welcome and offer fiber arts books in our yarn library.

Teachers: Our YFK team teaches classes as do guest teachers from near and far. Learn about all of them on our Teachers page.

Fee(s): The cost of classes will generally be the class fee + cost of materials (if required). If you need materials for your class, we welcome you to come at least 10 min before the start time and/or in the days prior to your class during shop hours to pick out/up your materials.

Registration: sign up and pay in person at the shop, or register online here. Your payment confirms your registration. If we don’t meet the minimum number of students, we will refund your registration in full and advise you of this by the day before the scheduled class. You can also show up without pre-registering and if we have space and the class hasn’t started in earnest yet (instructor decides this) you may join. First come, first served. In most cases, if we don’t have the minimum number of registered students by three days before a class we will cancel the class. Registering in advance helps us with understanding customers’ interest in a topic and with our shop planning and is very appreciated!

Cancellation Policy (updated 4/16/25): Group classes require one week's notice before the first class for store credit. No credit issued after this time, including no-shows on the day-of. If the class is cancelled by us because we have not met the stated minimum number of students, you will receive a full refund. Private sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled no later than 48 hours before the lesson for store credit.

Questions: Call us during shop hours at 845-514-2693 or email hello [at] yarnfarmkingston.com.
