Return Policy

Returns on full-price yarn, tools, notions and other non-excluded goods permitted within 7 days with receipt, less processing fees effective 4/11/23.* Goods must be in original packaging and original, resaleable condition. Extra, unused yarn in full ball/skein and in resaleable condition (limited to one ball or skein for a given project) may be exchanged for store credit at the prevailing price for that yarn, within 60 days of receipt date and when exchange is accompanied by original receipt. Return shipping for the above cases is the responsibility of the customer. Defective items may be returned for a full refund. We will pay for return shipping on defective items. No returns or exchanges on books, patterns, cut fabric, handknits, food items, cosmetic items (soaps, lotions, etc.), or sale items.

*YFK uses Square to process our credit card transactions. Effective 4/11/23, Square is keeping processing fees on transactions for any partial or full refunds to customers. Accordingly, we will need to deduct these fees from any customer refund on a credit card transaction. No fees will be taken/kept for cash purchases. Thank you for your understanding!

Shipping

We offer flat rate shipping of $9 for any purchases under $200 and free shipping for any purchases $200 or more in the continental US. For all other locations, the shipping fee will be the carrier’s shipping cost and we will seek out the most affordable option to use.

Class Policy

Fee(s): The cost of classes will generally be the class fee plus cost of materials (if required). If you need materials for your class, we welcome you to come at least 10 min before the start time and/or in the days prior to your class during shop hours to pick out/up your materials.

Registration: sign up and pay in person at the shop, or register online, up to 24-48 hours (depends on the teacher) before the class starts. Your payment confirms your registration. If we don’t meet the minimum number of students, we will refund your registration in full and advise you of this by the day before the scheduled class. You can also show up without pre-registering (walk-in) and if we have space and the class hasn’t started in earnest yet you may join. First come, first served. If we don’t have registered students by 1-3 days before a class, we may cancel the class. Registering in advance helps us with understanding customers’ interest in a topic and with our shop planning and is very appreciated!

Cancellation Policy: Full refund less credit card processing fee (effective 4/11/23) is provided for any cancellation up to one week before the class date. Credit towards another class is provided for any cancellation made from six days through the day before the class date. No credit or refunds issued after this time, including no-shows on the day-of. If the class is cancelled by us because we have not met the stated minimum number of students, you will receive a full refund.

Private sessions: One-on-one sessions are available and can be scheduled when mutually convenient, for 30 minutes or 1 hour, at a fee of $40 or $65, respectively. Email to request options for this, then pay in advance (secure Square invoice) to confirm your session. We also try offer 15 min private sessions a few times a month as indicated on our Calendar. Register for these 15 min sessions online. Cancellation policy for private sessions is the same as for classes, please see above.
