In this class you will get right to weaving on a pre-warped lap loom, in a very small group setting that is conducive to learning! You will learn plain weave, how to change colors in your weaving, and how to add texture with roving. (In Beginner Weaving – Part 2 we cover warping this lap loom, more techniques to add texture, and finishing your weaving.)
You may come to this class once or multiple times, whatever supports your learning! It is meant for absolute beginners but also a good option if you learned how to weave in the past and would like a refresher, or would just like to spend some time doing something new and creative. We think it's ideal to learn foundational skills in a live, in-person class.
You will weave on a loom that is on loan to you for the duration of the class, with access to materials (yarn, roving) during the class. Approx. 10-15 min before the end of class, Jocelyn will help students remove their weaving from the loom and explain how to finish your piece. Should you wish to buy a loom after your class, you may use a 10% student discount on your loom purchase.
