Intro to Mosaic Colorwork Knitting (Revised dates)
This date is the FIRST of two sessions. (Original dates were 3/4 and 3/21.)
Expand your knitting skills and jump into the magical world of color!
Learn to work with multiple colors for the first time while working on increases and decrease as we knit the charming Pressed Flowers Kerchief together.
This two part class will take place over two weeks with a week in between so you have plenty of time for homework.
This class is a great next step after taking our Knitting Newbies and Beyond Beginner Knitting courses or if you’ve ever wanted to learn color work knitting but it seemed too intimidating.
Mosaic style color work is the easiest method to learn as you’re only working with one color at a time so it’s a great entry point for working with color.
Note because of the slow nature of knitting, you won’t finish this project in class, but you’ll leave with all the skills needed to finish it on your own!
Teacher: Kristin Parker
Class fee: $75, no yarn or needles included.
Materials
2 skeins (contrasting colors) of DK weight yarn (sport and worsted can also work for this pattern, just change needle sizes accordingly)
US 6 circular or straight needles
Optional (but useful!) Row counter
During your course, you may shop with a 10% discount on full-price items (some limited items are excluded from this discount) on the dates your class meets.
Minimum 2 people to confirm the class, maximum of 8 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.

Monogram Embroidery Craftalong Class
One Thursday evening in March
What’s a craftalong class you say? Traditionally, craftalongs are social gatherings focused on a shared project and they are not a class. Classes are focused (often) on learning new techniques, and at Yarn Farm they tend to be very small like 4-6 people for special attention.
We’re launching a new experience, a craftalong class! This is a social gathering where you will get instruction and help with new techniques and we’ll all kick off a project together.
In our March Monogram Embroidery craftalong class we’ll all start to work on a lovely embroidery kit. Hand embroidery is a magical, portable craft where you create beauty with only a needle and thread, and in this case we use a hoop too. Jocelyn will explain the overall steps to sewing the embroidery design, coach you through setting up your project in its hoop, and give you tips for success!
This is a beginner-friendly class. If you already know how to sew, great! If not, this is a good opportunity to start with guidance and some new friends.
Due to the customary time needed to embroider a kit, you will not finish your project during the duration of this class. The class is designed to get you started and set up for success.
Course fee of $40 includes your monogram embroidery kit (value $12).
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco
Minimum 2 people to confirm the craftalong class, maximum of 8 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
Watercolor Paint and Sip (March)
You will create a colorful watercolor painting led by Hudson Valley Atelier instructor Carlise Azmitia.
Come with friends or on your own and nourish your creativity! This paint and sip will last approximately ninety minutes to two hours.
'Welcome Spring' with a vintage flower envelope painting. Students will learn loose brush strokes, wet on wet, wet on dry and color mixing.
Event fee: $50 includes instruction in a small group setting, supplies and your choice of one alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. At YFK we offer wine, local beer and hard cider, fresh brewed artisanal tea and sodas.
Minimum 2 people to confirm the event, maximum of 12 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two attendees by 3 days before the date of the event we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
All Was Done By Hand at Kingston City Hall
Don’t miss the second annual textile arts extravaganza here in Kingston on Sat Mar 28: All Was Done By Hand!
Demos and eager fiber artists at Kingston City Hall are happy to share with you throughout the day.
This event is at Kingston City Hall, 420 Broadway.
Go! Then swing by Yarn Farm after and tell us what you loved learning about the most!

April Mending Meetup
Monthly the first Thursday evening of the month
Want some support in getting through the ever growing mending pile? Have a particularly tricky mend you’d like some help gaming out strategy on? Join us for our new Monthly Mending Meetup, a drop in mending clinic where you can bring 1-2 projects to trouble shoot and work on, have access to a range of mending supplies, hang out with other menders, and treat yourself to a drink special!
We’ll spend the hour and a half together saving our beloved textiles from landfill and learning from each other (and get that much needed accountability we all need for our sometimes less exciting projects). You’ll have long time mender Kristin along side you to decide what the best technique for your project may be and get you going.
Please note this is less a class and more a casual gathering. We will be able to help you with your projects and you’ll pick up skills along the way but this is not a space to fully learn new techniques. If you want to get a great foundation for your mending before joining us, please join us for our hand sewing classes Visible Mending and/or Sashiko Stitching.
Lead mender: Kristin Parker
Meetup fee: $25 includes support from Kristin and access to needles/pins, fabric scraps, and thread for use during the meetup.
Max of 8 attendees. Read and understand our Store Policies here. As with our classes, there are no refunds for missed sessions. If you can not attend on the date you signed up for, please contact us and you can use your credit at a future mending meetup!

Machine Sew Fabric Buckets with Cal Patch
Yarn Farm loves Cal Patch!
Use it as a basket, a bag, a hold-all: once you make one fabric bucket, you'll come up with all kinds of uses for them! This is a great project to renew your sewing skills and bump them up a notch, and a fun way to use smaller pieces of textiles you've printed, dyed or collected. Cal will teach you how to piece fabrics together, sew a curved edge to a straight edge, make straps and pockets, and you'll leave with a beautiful reversible container.
Skill level required: Beginner Plus. Students must bring their own sewing machine and know the bare basics of how to use it: how to thread it and make a simple seam.
Please bring:
· 1/2 yard of outer fabric (medium weight woven cotton, like denim, canvas, quilting cotton -- can be smaller pieces that add up to about 1/2 yard)
· 1/2 yard of lining fabric (as above)
· All-purpose thread to match
· Ruler
· Basic sewing kit: Scissors (for cutting fabric), pins + pincushion, seam ripper, chalk, tape measure
Yarn Farm Kingston will have basic sewing kits and a small selection of fabric available for purchase if needed!
Teacher: Cal Patch
Class Size: min 3 and max 5
Class Fee: $90
During your course, you may shop with a 10% discount on full-price items (some limited items are excluded from this discount) on the dates your class meets.
For classes with Cal Patch, minimum 3 people to confirm the class, maximum of 5 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of three students by one week before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
Knit Cabled Mitts (Cityscape Series)
One class on a Fri eve in April
Learn to cable or take your cabling skills to the next level while making the elegant Cityscape Mitts by Tori Yu. In this one off class we’ll cast on together and get you well on your way with these sweet Mitts. You’ll leave with all the skills you need to finish. These Mitts are part of the Cityscape collection. We’ll be knitting through it over the next few months so by the beginning of April you’ll have a gorgeous set of hat, cowl, and fingerless mitts to get you through the end of chilly spring days. You’re also welcome to join us for a single project of your choice. For a Kingston specific Cityscape Set, use Jill Drapers Kingston yarn which is the perfect weight for this project! In this 2 hour class you will learn:
How to set up magic loop
How to cable in small circumference knitting
How to read a pattern and follow a chart
Shaping
Please note due to the slow nature of knitting you will not finish this project in class, but will leave with all the skills needed to be able to finish. The class will be taught using magic loop, but if you are already confident using DPNs and would like to make them that way instead you’re welcome to!

If you’re like us and you find inspiration in hand sewn decor in designs that range from traditional to modern day, in color palettes of your choosing, this beginner-friendly class is for you!
Start your embroidery journey here. You will learn a variety of embroidery stitches, and be encouraged to try out new stitches outside of class on your own between the two sessions.
Stitches that we will cover include a range of essential stitches that you’ll certainly need in your sewing toolkit, as well as more textured stitches that may or may not be complicated but definitely look it!*
Running stitch
Back stitch
Stem stitch
Straight stitch
Satin stitch
French knots
Woven wheel stitch
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco

*This course, versus our Visible Mending course also offered in April, focuses on traditional embroidery stitches you’ll have seen growing up here in the US or in Europe (for example) and not on how these stitches are used to mend and sustain garments and other everyday textiles, or embroidery from other cultures. For the mending and sustaining, consider our Visible Mending course! For more on other cultures, check out our Sashiko Stitching course, or another resource, Tatter!

Hand Stitched T-Shirt with Cal Patch (Knit Fabric)
Three 2-hour classes on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm.
Yarn Farm loves Cal Patch!
Sewing on a machine is quick and practical, but for many it’s difficult to find the dedicated time and space required to make it a regular habit. Moving your sewing practice into the realm of handwork (like knitting, crochet, and embroidery) means you can stitch up garments whenever you have a few spare minutes, or on the couch at night while watching a movie, and carry a project with you so you always have it on the go. Sewing by hand adds an element of meditative calm to your sewing practice. Amazingly, you might find you can finish a hand-sewn garment sooner than a machine-sewn one!
We will work with a pattern (see supply list for options) for a simple, knit T- shirt and learn how to sew seams, finish necklines and hem edges with only your hands and a needle and thread. Several methods for each type of seam will be shown, so you may also create a sampler of extra techniques.
No prerequisite skills, though an understanding of basic sewing principles will be helpful. You will need to have your pieces (front and back only, skip any facings) cut out before start of class.
Supplies needed:
— Pattern for simple t-shirt (see list below)
— Fabric: light-to-medium weight cotton jersey or interlock knit fabric. Quantity as indicated for your size* on pattern, but 2 yards is probably
sufficient for most. Solid, print or stripes, your choice!
— Front and Back pieces (and sleeves if pattern has them) ALREADY CUT OUT of your fabric (no need for any facings included in pattern). Please use simplest version with no added seams, unless you don’t mind extra homework.
— Fat quarter or approximately 12-18” square (smaller is fine) of similar or
same fabric (could be a scrap left over after cutting) for sampler
— All-purpose thread, can be contrast (to see your stitches) or matching
and/or size 8 Perle Cotton
— Hand-sewing needles in a few sizes, or your favorite size
— Pins
— Scissors
— Marking tool (chalk, wax or pencil) and ruler
— Optional: Thimble
Please use one of the following patterns, or a similar T-shirt or boxy top:
— Boxy Tee/Drapy Tunic, OR T-Shirt pattern, drafted in a previous class with Cal, or from her online video class, or tutorial found on her website (for boxy tee only). (NOTE: please just do the simple version without the seam and pocket)

Embroidery Basics with Cal Patch!
Yarn Farm loves Cal Patch!
Adding a touch of embroidery can turn nearly any plain thing into an art piece or heirloom. You can stitch on clothes, home goods, accessories and other textiles you’ve made yourself, or bought pre-made. By embellishing on these items, you can make gifts more personal, commemorate events, hide mending or stains, or just give a tired old item a new life. We will learn 12 different classic embroidery stitches and experiment on a free-form sampler, or a project of your choice. Once you know how, you’ll want to add a touch of stitched decoration to everything you own, make or give.
Please bring: a fat quarter or approximately 18" square of woven cotton or linen cloth (gingham works great) for your sampler, embroidery floss and needles, and some small scissors
Yarn Farm Kingston will have basic sewing kits and a small selection of fabric available for purchase if needed! During your course, you may shop with a 10% discount on full-price items (some limited items are excluded from this discount) on the dates your class meets.

Regrets cancelled - Amigurumi Craftalong Class
Regrets cancelled - did not reach min. class size.
In our March Amigurumi craftalong class we’ll all start to work on a sweet crochet kit. Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting (typically, but they can also be knit) small, cute, stuffed creatures. Jocelyn will explain the overall steps to following the amigurumi pattern, coach you through starting with a magic ring (often the trickiest part), and give you tips for success!
You must already have basic crochet skills:
Comfort holding and managing yarn as you crochet
Slip knot, chain stitch and single crochet
This craftalong class will not teach the above skills but rather will build on them.
Due to the customary time needed to crochet an amigurumi kit, you will not finish your new friend during the duration of this class. The class is designed to get you started and set up for success. It is geared toward capable crocheters who haven’t yet tried to make amigurumi and/or follow a pattern.
Course fee of $40 includes your choice of amigurumi kit (value $15).
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco
Minimum 2 people to confirm the craftalong class, maximum of 8 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.

Each session is 90 min long of which approx. 60-75 min is active teaching and 15-30 min is reserved at the end of class for guided practice weaving.
Course fee of $120 includes a small loom that you can borrow and take home with you for the full length of the course, a small supply of starter yarn and cotton warp, a weaving needle and a tapestry needle. REGRETS CANCELLED - Hand Sew Your Own Shirt with Cal Patch (Woven fabric)
Regrets - did not meet 2 person minimum.
Three 2-hour classes on Sundays from 11am-1pm (time updated on Jan 22)
Yarn Farm loves Cal Patch!
Sewing on a machine is quick and practical, but for many it’s difficult to find the dedicated time and space required to make it a regular habit. Moving your sewing practice into the realm of handwork (like knitting, crochet, and embroidery) means you can stitch up garments whenever (and wherever) you have a few spare minutes, or on the couch at night while watching a movie, and carry a project with you so you always have it. Amazingly, you might find you can finish a hand-sewn garment sooner than a machine-sewn one!
Cal will teach you how to work with a pattern (see supply list below for options) for a simple, boxy top and learn how to sew seams, finish necklines and hem edges with only your hands and a needle and thread. Several methods for each type of seam will be shown, so you may also create a sampler of extra techniques.
Both decorative and functional stitching techniques will take your slow-fashion wardrobe to the next level, and add an element of meditative calm to your sewing. On future projects you can use your new skills in combination with machine sewing, or entirely on their own.
No prerequisite skills, though an understanding of basic sewing principles will be helpful. You will need to have your pieces (front and back only, skip any facings) cut out before start of class.
Please bring shirt pattern and the supplies below:
- Pattern* for simple top (see list below)
- Fabric: light-to-medium weight woven cotton, linen or blend. Quantity as indicated for your size** on pattern, but 2 yards is probably sufficient for most. Solid fabric is best to see your stitches, but print is ok too.
- Front and Back pieces ALREADY CUT OUT of your fabric (no need for any facings included in pattern). Please use simplest version with no added seams or sleeves!
- Fat quarter or approximately 12-18” square of similar or same fabric (could be a scrap left over after cutting) for sampler
- Bias tape, 1 yard of ½” single-fold, can be self-made or packaged
- All-purpose thread, can be contrast (to see your stitches) or matching and/or size 8 Perle Cotton
- Hand-sewing needles in a few sizes, or your favorite size

-Optional: Thimble

Boxy Tee/Drapy Tunic drafted in a previous class with Cal, or from her online video class, or tutorial found on her website (NOTE: please just do the simple version without the seam and pocket)
**These are loose-fitting tops, so you should be fine to choose the size called for according to your measurements. But if you are very concerned about a perfect fit, you may wish to machine-stitch a muslin/fit sample first to confirm size.

Regrets cancelled - Knit a Cabled Cowl (Cityscape Series)
Regrets, cancelled. Did not reach class size minimum.
One class on a Thurs eve in March
Promo! Register for both remaining Cityscape project classes in March and April and receive a free YFK t-shirt after your second class.
Learn to cable or take your cabling skills to the next level while making the elegant Cityscape Cowl by Tori Yu. In this one off class we’ll cast on together and get you well on your way with this beautiful cowl. You’ll leave with all the skills you need to finish. This cowl is part of the Cityscape collection.
How to cable flat
How to read a pattern and follow a chart
How to make a selvedge edge
How to seam (demoed, you will not get to this point in your cowl in our two hours together)
Please note due to the slow nature of knitting you will not finish this project in class, but will leave with all the skills needed to be able to finish.

Cast on
Knit
Purl
Bind off

- Pins
- Scissors
- Marking tool (chalk, wax or pencil) and ruler
-Optional: Thimble
*Please use one of the following patterns, or similar top:
Boxy Tee/Drapy Tunic drafted in a previous class with Cal, or from her online video class, or tutorial found on her website (NOTE: please just do the simple version without the seam and pocket)
**These are loose-fitting tops, so you should be fine to choose the size called for according to your measurements. But if you are very concerned about a perfect fit, you may wish to machine-stitch a muslin/fit sample first to confirm size.
Teacher: Cal Patch
Class Size: min 3 and max 5
Class Fee: $180 for the course of three 2-hour classes

For classes with Cal Patch, minimum 3 people to confirm the class, maximum of 5 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of three students by one week before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
Rescheduled! - Intro to Mosaic Colorwork Knitting
Rescheduled!
New dates: one Saturday late afternoon in March then again in early April

Regrets cancelled - March Mending Meetup
Regrets, cancelled. Come to our meetup the first Thurs in April! Then again the first Thurs in May.
Monthly the first Thursday evening of the month starting in March

Visible Mending (TWO 90-min sessions)
Two ninety-minute sessions meeting on Thurday eves
So many Yarn Farm Friends ask us about visible mending, and for good reason! Use sewing techniques to mend, beautify and sustain your garments and textile treasures. Brilliant!
You will learn these techniques with hands-on practice in class:
Running stitch (with or without thimble)
Patching (raw or with a neat edge)
Applique
Reverse applique
Woven patch (without a loom)
Embroidery
It’s indeed a lot, and we’ll move steadily through the techniques. You may not try every single one yourself in class but you’ll certainly do 2-3 of them, and you’ll have what you need to keep practicing and mending at home, including a materials kit (value $40-50) included in your class fee. In class we’ll also go through the range of tools that can be helpful. But to start you don’t need very much!
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco
Class fee $100 including materials.
Materials provided (illustrative and valued at a min of $40): variety of cloth (cotton, linen and wool), sashiko embroidery floss, DMC embroidery floss, needles, stick and stitch for embroidery. Not included: thimble, darning egg, or embroidery hoop.
During your course, you may shop with a 10% discount on full-price items (some limited items are excluded from this discount) on the dates your class meets.
Note: In February we are offering this class in two formats. A single three-hour session and a two-session course (each 90 min). We hope one of these suits your schedule! If you’d like more time to practice techniques, consider the two-session format so you have time between sessions to practice the techniques from the first half of the course. Bear in mind that the two-session course meets on Thursday evenings. There may be chatter from the bar during the class. If this will disturb you, please consider the Saturday class.
Minimum 2 people to confirm the class, maximum of 6 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
Beyond Sashiko Stitching: Sashiko Part 2
Welcome back sashiko stitchers! This is Part 2 of our sashiko series. To register you must have already taken Sashiko Stitching at Yarn Farm Kingston and learned how to use a palm thimble. If you register without having taken the first class, Sashiko Stitching, you may use your credit to sign up for that foundations class first on a future date that it is offered, take the value in store credit, or get a refund less processing fees charged to us by our payments processor Square.
In this two-hour follow up class, we will go beyond the technical use of the palm thimble and venture into using various sashiko patterns (through cloth carbon paper, chalk pencils, stencils, rulers and more) and how to use sashiko to strengthen, mend and embellish your fabric.
Jocelyn will share these techniques as taught to her by Atsushi Futatsuya, a third generation master sashiko artist. (For more on Atsushi and opportunities to learn directly from this master, see his website and Instagram.)
Your materials fee will cover all the essential materials and tools for class (and reflects 10% off) and are yours to keep. The kit will *not* include a sashiko needle and thimble; bring these from your first class or buy them at Yarn Farm as needed.
You may shop for additional sashiko materials and tools the day of class and use a 10% discount. (Yay!)
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco
Class Size: min 2 and max 8
Class fee $50 and materials fee $50, or a total cost of $100.
Materials provided: piece of carbon paper, chalk pencil, 100% cotton sashiko fabric (2 fat quarters), pins, printed copies of sashiko designs, plastic sheet for use with carbon paper, circle template, large skein (145 meters) of bright white sashiko thread. Note due to sourcing constraints the exact materials are subject to change slightly; however, the materials kit value will be at least $50 and you will get everything you need to learn the techniques in the class and design more after that!
Bring with you: sashiko needle(s) and palm thimble (or buy at Yarn Farm Kingston), garments with holes for mending or items for embellishing.
Minimum 2 people to confirm the class, maximum of 8 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.

Colorwork Knitting: Triceratops Cowl! (Course)
Two Saturday mornings in February: Feb 7 and Feb 21.
Ready for colorwork? Colorwork knitting uses two or more colors of yarn in a row and is also known as stranded knitting. It results in a graphic, as delightfully demonstrated by our project pick, the Triceratops Cowl by Jamie Lomax. The Triceratops Cowl is a stranded colorwork pattern for a basic cowl (one size), knit in the round using circular needles, from the bottom up. Corrugated ribbing frames the top and bottom edges. Jamie was inspired by her daughter’s love of dinosaurs. I think we all know someone who most certainly needs this creative cowl!
In this two-session course (each session is one hour long) you’ll learn and practice these special techniques: stranded colorwork in the round, reading charts, catching long floats, and corrugated ribbing.
Pre-requisite skills: (must have recent and confident experience with the following)
Cast on
Bind off
Knitting in the round
Comfortable ribbing (knitting and purling)
Please note, this is an intermediate knitting class class. Due to time constraints, we will not be able to teach you the above skills during class.
Due to the slow nature of knitting will not finish your cowl during the duration of this class. The class is designed to tackle all the hardest parts of stranded colorwork during class. You will finish your two sessions with all the skills needed to complete the project on your own.
Course fee of $100 includes 2 skeins of sportweight organic 100% merino wool and your own digital copy of the pattern. We will purchase the pattern for you and email it to you after you register. Do not purchase it yourself; we are unable to refund you for the pattern purchase if purchase it yourself directly.

Beginner Spinning on Your Wheel
Have a spinning wheel but don’t know how to use it, or need a refresher? Want to get one but unsure what to do next? Shop for your wheel at Yarn Farm and this course is free with your purchase of a wheel! (Talk to Jocelyn to learn more.)
In this short-form beginner intro class we focus on getting you on your wheel and spinning! In contrast to our one-day intensive, there will be less attention to the technical aspects of your wheel and the difference between methods of spinning. (If you’d like to take that longer class or potentially a private session, email us so we can get a sense of demand and add the intensive to our 2026 calendar!)
You’ll learn how to:
Pre-draft fiber to help make spinning at your wheel easier
Change settings on your wheel to increase/decrease “take up” (how hard your wheel pulls your spun yarn from you)
Identify fiber that is good for beginners (wool! and certain breeds in particular) vs. better for more intermediate spinners (silk!)
We’ll give you an overview of the parts of a spinning wheel and what they do, and give you feedback on your spinning to help you spin better! We’ll explain what you do with your yarn after it’s on your bobbin, so you can continue to this step after class at home.
Bring your own wheel, borrow one from a friend, or rent one from us. We have a limited number of rental wheels available for an additional $50/session (first-come, first served and payment in advance). Email us to check if we have a loaner wheel available for you.*
Course fee: $75, includes 4 oz of beginner-friendly spinning fiber. Does not include use of a spinning wheel. Bring your own wheel.

Regrets Cancelled - Beyond Beginner Crochet February Course
Regrets cancelled - did not meet class size minimum.
Three Sundays in January from 1:30-2:30pm
In this three-session course (each session is one hour long) you’ll build on what you learned in the Beginner Crochet class or Crochet Newbies course you’ve previously taken. It is geared towards new crocheters who can make a slip knot, chain, and make single crochets, double crochets, and half-double crochets independently, and who are ready to build on this foundation. We will not review the basics (slip knot, chain, sc, dc, hdc) so please be sure you know how to do these things before signing up. As well, if you are very comfortably crochet beyond the basics already, this class is not for you. Consider one of our project-/technique-based classes that we plan to also have at the shop targeting advanced beginner/intermediate crocheters.
In this Beyond Beginner Crochet Course you’ll learn how to follow simple patterns to make a small basket/project bag and granny squares.
Course fee of $100 includes 1 hank of 3mm cotton cord for the basket/project bag plus hook.

How to knit in the round
How to cable in the round
How to read a pattern and follow a chart
How to transition to magic loop for your decreases (demoed, you will not get to this point in your hat in our two hours together)

Sashiko Stitching
Sashiko, a Japanese form of embroidery well over a hundred years old, has exploded in popularity lately! Unsurprising as it’s both beautiful and functional.
The foundation of sashiko is the rhythm of stitching, using a special plate thimble made of metal. In this class Jocelyn will share how to use this thimble and an overview of sashiko as taught by Atsushi Futatsuya, a third generation master sashiko artist. (For more on Atsushi and opportunities to learn directly from this master, see his website and Instagram.)
Teacher: Jocelyn Songco
Class fee $65 and materials fee $20, or a total cost of $85.
Materials provided: metal plate thimble, one skein (20 meters) of sashiko embroidery floss, one sashiko needle, and one 100% cotton or linen fat quarter.
Minimum 2 people to confirm the class, maximum of 8 students total. If we don’t reach the minimum of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll refund your purchase in full. Read and understand our Class Policies here.
