Learn to cable or refresh your cabling skills while making the elegant Cityscape Hat by Tori Yu. In this one-off class we’ll cast on together and work on the cabled brim of the hat. You’ll leave with all the skills you need to finish. This hat is part of the Cityscape collection.
We’ll be knitting through the whole collection over the next few months so by the beginning of April you’ll have a gorgeous set of hat, cowl, and fingerless mitts to get you through the end of chilly spring days. You’re also welcome to join us for a single project of your choice.
For a Kingston-specific Cityscape Set, use Jill Draper’s Kingston yarn which is the perfect weight for this project!
In this 2 hour class you will learn:
How to knit in the round
How to cable in the round
How to read a pattern and follow a chart
How to transition to magic loop for your decreases (demoed, you will not get to this point in your hat in our two hours together)
Please note due to the slow nature of knitting you will not finish this project in class, but will leave with all the skills needed to be able to finish.
Required Skills: This is not a learn to knit class. Please have taken our Knitting Newbies course or have equivalent skills before joining us for this project. You must already know how to:

220 Yards of DK weight yarn
Size US 4 circular needles with a 16” cable and 36”+ cable (or whatever needle size needed to make gauge) **if you are making the full set we highly recommend you use interchangeable needles for the projects. That way you’ll be able to buy different cable lengths/tips but don’t need to buy new needles for every project
