Want to make a cozy hat to give to loved ones this holiday season or gift to yourself as the nights grow longer?

Join us for our Quick Holiday Hat making class! We’ll be making the High Seas Hat by Purl Soho together. This hat ranges from size Toddler to Adult Large so its perfect for everyone in the family.

In this 2.5 hour workshop you will learn:

• Long tail tubular cast on

• Fisherman’s rib

• Fisherman’s rib decreases

• How to use double pointed needles 

Please note, this is not a learn to knit to class. We ask that you’ve taken our beginner knitting class or have the equivalent experience.

You must know how to knit, purl, and cast on to sign up for this class. Due to time constraints, we will not be able to teach you these skills during class and no refund is provided if you attend without knowing how to knit, purl and cast on.

Due to the slow nature of knitting and different people’s knitting speeds you may or may not finish this project during class. 

Class length: 2 ½ hours of active teaching followed by time for in-shop practice stitching and support.

Class fee $110 with all materials included

Materials provided: 1 skein of your choosing of Lanas Quick yarn, 1 pair of 16” circular needles, and 1 pair of double pointed needles. Needles will be size 10.5 or 11 (appropriate for the chunky yarn provided).

Please bring stitch markers for use in class. 

Cancellation Policy (updated 4/16/25): Group classes require one week's notice before the first class for store credit. No credit issued after this time, including no-shows on the day-of. If the class is cancelled by us because we have not met the stated minimum number of students, you will receive a full refund. Private sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled no later than 48 hours before the lesson for store credit.
